WELCOME to the Macromolecular Architectures (MacroArc) Research Team

Current research in the MacroArc group at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) focuses on a wide range of research fields such as the synthesis of complex macromolecular architectures with selected functionality and composition via living/controlled polymerization protocols, advanced synthesis via polymer conjugation protocols and macromolecular transformations at ambient temperature, fundamental investigations into polymerization mechanism and kinetics as well as imaging of macromolecular chain structures. Applications include controlled surface modification and nano-engineering, targeted cell attachment, bonding/debonding on demand systems, polymer-based catalysis as well as biosubstrate functionalization. Our research interests are at the interface of organic, polymer and bio-chemistry, with particular focus on development on new and efficient controlling and conjugation protocols.
